Durga Puja is one of the most significant Hindu festivals, celebrated with grandeur and devotion across India and among Bengali communities worldwide. The festival honours the divine feminine energy, represented by Goddess Durga, and commemorates her victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
We warmly invite you to partake in a notable celebration of Durga Puja with Bengali community in Sydney, organized by the
Vakta Mandir Sydney Trust. This event will highlight the rich traditions, significant rituals, and cultural festivities that promote unity and devotion. We are privileged to honour the divine feminine and look forward to participation in this important occasion.
** Dress Code **
Traditional Indian attire is encouraged, especially sarees for women and dhotis/kurta for men, to celebrate the cultural heritage.
** Entry Fee **
Free for all attendees; however, donations are welcome to support the event and charity initiatives.
