The festival honors the divine feminine energy, represented by Goddess Durga, and commemorates her victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
Event Highlights:
1. Ashtami (October 12th, 2024):
The most significant day of Durga Puja, featuring "Kumari Puja" and the grand "Sandhi Puja," which symbolizes the moment Goddess Durga transformed into Mahakali to slay the demons. Devotees offer "Pushpanjali" (floral offerings) in the morning.
The evening will end with a farewell ceremony and a closing cultural event.
