Durga Puja is one of the most significant Hindu festivals, celebrated with grandeur and devotion across India and among Bengali communities worldwide. The festival honors the divine feminine energy, represented by Goddess Durga, and commemorates her victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
Event Highlights:
Ashtami (October 12th, 2024): The most significant day of Durga Puja, featuring "Kumari Puja" and the grand "Sandhi Puja," which symbolizes the moment Goddess Durga transformed into Mahakali to slay the demons. Devotees offer "Pushpanjali" (floral offerings) in the morning.
Special Attractions:
Cultural Programs: Daily evening performances showcasing traditional Bengali music, dance, drama, and recitals.- Fun and engaging activities for children, including art competitions, games, and storytelling sessions.
**Dress Code:** Traditional Indian attire is encouraged, especially sarees for women and dhotis/kurta for men, to celebrate the cultural heritage.
**Entry Fee:** Free for all attendees; however, donations are welcome to support the event and charity initiatives.Come and join us for this grand celebration, and immerse yourself in the festive spirit of Durga Puja!!! Om Mangolom Vagoban Vishnu !!
